# Slovenian Rectors' Conference on internationalisation of higher education April 24, 2014 A lecture on Internationalisation of higher education in Slovenia at the Rectors' Conference of the Republic of Slovenia. Three issues: (1) strengthen internationalisation of study at home by creating enabling conditions for offering a selection of courses or programmes in foreign languages; (2) emphasise advancement in teaching and learning excellence (and make internationalisation of study at home an integral part of such strategy); (3) strengthen institutional research at institutional and national level (including data collection and analyses on internationalisation). I spoke in favour of changing the legal provision on Slovenian as the official language of instruction in the Slovenian Law on Higher Education to giving the university the autonomy to decide in which languages they will offer courses and study programmes.
